What is it? Y4P3, The dA Center for the Arts and RAD believe in the power of art as a means of individual and communal transformation and creative expression, especially among youth. For the third year, Y4P3, the dA Center for the Arts and RAD are collaborating on our Community Quinceañer@, a community celebration and alcohol awareness event. This year, we invite you to submit an original work of art in any medium that explores the idea of “Transformation.” The art exhibit will serve as the backdrop for our community Quinceañer@ celebration.
Art/Exhibit Guidelines:
All are invited to submit work for the exhibit.
Youth ages 13 - 21 are especially encouraged to participate.
You may work individually or in groups. However, due to limited space, each individual or group may only submit 1 piece. You may have mixed ages in your group (for example, an adult may work with a group of teens).
All forms of art are accepted. For example, photography, oil, acrylic, watercolor, sculpture, film/video (3-5 minute limit, 1 GB in size), music, poetry, dance, etc.
The work must have been completed in the last 12 months
Artwork can not have been previously shown at the dA Center for the Arts.
Each piece of artwork needs to have the following information attached to it:Artists Name, Title, & Medium
Artwork must come in ready to hang
Entire drawing must be done by student
List credit for musicians, composers, writers or actors in the work.
If people are represented in the photography, artist should be able to provide consent for use of their image.
Y4P3 and the dA reserve the right not to display any pieces determined to be inappropriate.
Two entries will be selected to win the "People's Choices" Awards, as determined by attendee voting. The prizes are valued at approximately $50.
You must register your intent to submit art for the exhibit by Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Registration will open February 2017.
Please deliver your completed work to the dA Center for the Arts (252 S. Main St., Pomona) on Wednesday, April 17-April 18 from 9am - 5pm. If you need assistance with delivery, please contact Anthony at [email protected] or 909-629-4084.
Submissions will be on display at the dA from Friday, April 21 - Saturday, April 29.
All artists, family members, friends and community members are invited to attend the opening reception on Saturday, April 22 from 6-8pm (more details to follow).
Your art will be returned to you at your school / organization.
